How to use the whip utility

WHIP!® allows you to quickly and easily distribute design files over a network without AutoCAD® software. It boosts collaboration and information exchange among project members, and it’s available for download free of charge.

Autodesk® WHIP!® uses the drawing web format (DWF), a lightweight vector file format that preserves the security and precision of original DWG drawing files, while ensuring the speedy transmission of drawings. With it, anyone on your project can access DWF drawings in e-mail or on a local area network, a floppy disk, or the Internet without using a computer-aided design program. The DWF format compresses design drawings so that they can be transferred electronically up to seven times faster than a DWG drawing. The WHIP! viewer does not require any other software except a web browser and is free of charge.

When viewing a DWF you will find the right-click menu is used to access viewing controls.
